Implementing festivals that capture the imagination

Highwire has been involved with festivals across Australia for many years. From full-scale creative vision and implementation, to elements of program coordination and management, external consultation and more.

Highwire is a partner in Gluttony, one of the Adelaide Fringe Festivals' biggest hubs. Gluttony has been running since 2011 and is an annual, one month festival-within-a-festival. 2019 was our biggest year with 15 ticketed venues across 2 sites, 8 bars, a silent disco, nerf gun arena, pop up performances and a capacity of 8,000 attendees. It was one of the best selling hubs at the festival with 12 of the top 20 shows.

One of our major projects for the past three years has been coordinating the family, street theatre and roving entertainment for Floriade, a month-long flower festival in Canberra.

In 2018 we ran the Anstey Village Festival, a multicultural community festival in Melbourne. Every year Highwire assists in coordinating the circus and street entertainment at the National Folk Festival in Canberra over Easter. Gluttony is growing - in June we will present Cabaret Fringe at Masonic for the first year, and in October the Lucky Dumpling Market will be taking place once again, an event we have run since 2017.
